Worth the trip to San Francisco alone. Never disappoints. Arrive early, as the wait time can add up. Crab cocktail, sand dabs, cioppino, petrale sole, halibut, the sour dough bread ‘n butter - can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Like any old school spot, don’t question the waiters, just listen to their sage advice.

Full of character.. Excellent food. Unique restaurant dating back to 1849. I enjoyed sitting at the bar watching everyone at work.. Felt like it had a bit of. New York feel but I may be wrong

The most perfect old school seafood restaurant you'll ever find. Fantastic seafood dishes. We happened to go during dungeness crab season and it was some of the best most fresh crab you'll ever have. The crab cocktail was superb, something we will come back for. Beautiful interior of a restaurant makes you take a step back in time.

Calamari was good, Oysters Rockefeller was good, Veal Pasta has excellent flavor (not sure if it is ground Veal, tasted/looked like it), slightly disappointed with the Halibut (was good at first then it started to taste bland) and the Cioppino is good. It is more of an experience rather than a food destination. Lots of patrons though. Love the San Francisco appeal of the restaurant, have not used the restroom so I am not sure what it looks like. We Uber-ed to go here, we figured parking is going to be hard so I am not sure about that. Cable car accessible though as it runs along California. It is near Bart/Muni Embarcadero station though.

We were recommended by a good friend to try this place and so glad we did. What a dining experience. I would recommend making reservations and can say everything we ordered was so tasty. The Bourbon Bread Pudding was a great way to finish the meal. Don’t miss this one!!

Had a great meal at Tadish Grill! The oysters were fresh, the cocktails were top-notch, and both the grilled dishes and pasta were really tasty. Everything was well-seasoned and cooked just right. The service was also excellent! super friendly and attentive staff. Definitely a place I’d come back to!

What a great little spot, went in with a buddy for his birthday, we went when the restaurant is usually closed between lunch and dinner, but I guess they have been staying open lately during the break to entice more people to come in. We both had a Crab cocktail to start which was hassle free (crab is just the leg meat, no need to crack shells) the cocktail sauce has a little extra horse radish in it and is definitely home made. We had about 3 servings of bread, it’s a sourdough of sorts, but with a darker crust... it’s hard to stop eating... after the crab cocktail we did an order of the fried calamari... wow.. what a treat, the tartar sauce is also homemade and has a delicious flavor and chunky consistency, some of the best I’ve had in the city... it paired perfectly with the cocktail sauce... the calamari was the rings and full tentacle type, not the steak... and was perfectly breaded and lightly fried... felt good after eating it, not bogged down by grease, what a treat. Finally we had the Cioppino which came with everything the traditional dish would come with, we split it and each had our own piece of garlic bread that came with the dish. The seafood was delicious, you could tell that the ingredients were fresh and the chef has made this dish a hundred thousand times... the sauce was mouth watering, very full of spices and aroma... would eat here a hundred times a year if I could. A couple of beers and a manhattan with the food described above came out to 200 after tip and the server threw in a free dessert for the birthday boy. 5 stars, highly recommend what they claim to be the oldest restaurant in the city, established 1849. Great time, great vibes.
